Joanna Hull-Hepler Obituary

JOANNA RUTH HULL- HEPLER

Joanna Ruth Hull-Hepler, fondly known as Jodi or Boo, went to be with the angels on September 3rd, 2022, while being cared for at the Ebeid Hospice Center. Jodi was born April 5, 1963. She attended St Ursula Academy and DeVilbiss high school, after which she enrolled at the Ohio State University. Following in her Grandfather Pop’s footsteps, Jody joined the military in 1985 and proudly served in the United States Navy as a sea and air rescue Corpsman. Upon completion of her active-duty service, she worked for various Physicians in the Toledo area, and at the VA clinics located in Ann Arbor, Toledo, and Charleston SC, where she resided from 2017 to 2019.

After the death of her loving brother Jack, Jodi established the local chapter of The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) in NW Ohio, and she organized the first annual Out of the Darkness walk in 2007. It was her mission to bring attention and awareness to suicide prevention.

Jodi had a great sense of humor which she maintained through her end-of-life Journey. During the days before her passing, she awoke one morning and stated that she was visited during the night by two angels (we like to think it was her Brother and Nephew), and now she is one herself. Jodi leaves behind her daughter, Samantha R. Manore and her beloved grandchildren Jayden, Damon and Sophia; Sisters Pamela Fraser, Sandee Hull-Ferguson (Kevin) and Robyn “Birdie” Sbrocchi (Tom); and many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

Jodi was preceded in death by her Mother Patricia R. Hull and Father, Everett Davis Hull, her Maternal and Paternal Grandparents, her Sister Debbie and Brother Jack Hull, and nephew Trevor Ferguson. A private service celebrating Jodi’s life will be held at a future date.
