Roberta “Butch” Gayle Vaught, 87, was born May 25, 1936, to Robert and Thelma (Fackler) Shaulis and passed with her loving husband, Bill, by her side Monday, June 19. She was raised in North Toledo and earned the nickname “Butch” which stuck with her throughout her childhood and adult years, even lovingly being referred to by nieces and nephews as “Aunt Butch”.
Roberta started working for Libbey Glass in 1957. While working at Libbey, she met the love of her life, Bill (William) Vaught. Roberta and Bill were married June 10, 1961, and spent 62 years blissfully wed. She retired after 37 years of service in 1994. After retiring she enjoyed their 2nd home at Lake Barton in Indiana, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Roberta is survived by her husband William and their three children Lori (David) Keightley, Roy Vaught, & Audra (Kevin) Barber. Grandchildren Ray (Marina) Vaught, Caylee Vaught, Kaitlyn Miller, Jessica (Michael) Wirtz, Jonathon Bajas & Thomas Miller III. Great grandchildren Braxtyn Bajas, Will Vaught, Annalia Miller, Camryn Vaught, and many nieces & nephews. She is proceeded in death by her three sisters Mildred Lawson, Lois Dillion and Bonnie Parish.
We would like to thank the nurses at Ohio Living Hospice, specifically Angie Mangold, for her compassion and care throughout Roberta’s transition.
Per Roberta’s wishes there will be no services or showing, however, there will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
