Sammy Francis

Sammy Francis, 61, of Homer, went to be with Jesus on Friday October 27, 2023, at Pipp Hospital in Plainwell MI following a long illness. Sammy wasborn May 9, 1962, to David and Loretta (Hampton)Francis in Williamson, W. VA.

On February 23, 1995, he married Michelle Jackson, and she survives. Sammy worked at MCK of Litchfield and later Jonesville Products until his declining health forced him to stop. He enjoyed watching old westerns, camping, time with friends, but of late he enjoyed mini vacations with Michelle especially to Sault Saint Marie MI.  He was an avid guitar player and could be heard playing classic country and gospel music. But mostly he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Sammy is survived by his wife, Sons Christopher (Ashley) Abbeg, of Pittsford MI. Matthew Francis of Coldwater MI. His favorite granddaughter Lillian Abbeg, and his favorite grandson Dylan Abbeg. His brother Curtis Francis of North Adams, MI, sisters Penelope (Chad) Vonderlieth of South Dakota, Janet Francis of Litchfield, MI, and Tess (Ed) Dunning of Homer MI, and many nieces and nephews. Sammy was preceded in Death by his parents, his brothers David and Paul and a great nephew Andrew.

Cremation has taken place, and A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Homer Community House in Homer MI.
