Susan Combs Machnicki

Susan Combs Machnicki was born on September 24, 1942, in Huntington, WV, and died peacefully at home in Lambertville, MI, on October 5.

Susan was a homemaker, staying at home while raising her children. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She liked shopping, eating out, and playing bingo with friends. Susan also knew how to enjoy the small moments in life. She loved watching Western movies, reading books, and completing puzzles. Susan never lost her inner child and tried new things with amusement and wonder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, son Gary, and best friend Richard Kuebler. Susan is survived by brothers Chuck and Fred (Ginny) Combs; sons Greg (Connie), Barney (Lisa), and Glen. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren April Fleck, Heather Machnicki, Karissa Machnicki, Bobbie Jo Machnicki, Harry Machnicki, and Elliott Machnicki; and great grandchildren Sophia and Sienna DeLeon.

The family will host a private service and celebration of life party. In lieu of flowers, Susan would love a donation to her favorite charity, St. Joseph’s Indian School at www.stjo.org/flowers.
