William “Bill” Thomas Rabara, 75, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at the Manor of Perrysburg Rehab Center. He was born on May 30, 1948, to Vendell and Josephine (née Pokornik) Rabara. Bill married Kathy in 1971 and together they created a life filled with love and cherished memories. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Toledo, later working in engineering roles at Houghton Elevator and McKesson. Eventually, he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his own successful Auto Repair business. Subsequently, Bill embarked on a new journey, becoming the proud owner and operator of two video stores in Bedford Township, where he found contentment and retired.
Bill's interests spanned fishing, engaging in discussions about global politics and history, indulging in nature shows, and embracing the simple joys of life. He had a particular passion for collecting antiques which he proudly displayed at his home, often kindling conversations where Bill would share his impressive knowledge in world history with visitors.
Friends and loved ones are invited to share memories and reflections at Trilby Hall, 5745 Gay St. in Toledo on Sunday, August 20th from 1-4pm, with a Celebration of Life to begin at 4pm.
He is fondly remembered by his sister Mary Jo Bedal (Gerald), two sons, Bill Rabara (Carrie) and Tim Rabara (Amanda), one daughter, Joanna Deck (Kendal), and his eight cherished grandchildren. Bill was pre-deceased by his parents, as well as his brother Thomas (1974), his beloved wife Kathy (2010), and his son Jay (1992).
The family extends their gratitude to the exceptional circle of relatives, friends, the care team at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, as well as the staff of Manor of Perrysburg, whose unwavering support during the past few weeks has been deeply appreciated. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations to be made to a charity of your choice.
